PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
12/7/2005
The AWBT’s 10th Tour Stop – Sixshooters, Phoenix, Arizona
26 women came to Sixshooters to play in the AWBT’s final stop of the year. Thanks to Arizona Paralegal
Services and Teague Custom Cues, this was a paid qualifier for a spot in a 2006 WPBA Classic event of the
winner’s choice.
The competition was fierce all weekend and a few extraordinary women stood out above the rest. At 18 years
old, newcomer Anna Kostanian came all the way from New Mexico to play in her first AWBT event! Anna went
undefeated all weekend long and won her way to the hot seat. She met up with Anne Gray for the hot seat
match and won 7 to 4.
Another fierce competitor was veteran Tina Pawloski from San Diego. Tina lost her first match against Anna and
then fought her way back through the B-side to meet up with Anna once again for the final match.
The final match started and since it was a true double elimination tournament, Tina would have to beat Anna in
two sets of a race to 7. The first set started and Anna won the first two racks. In rack three, Tina made a
beautiful bank on the 6 ball, then missed a bank shot on the 8 ball, leaving Anna with a tough shot. Anna
missed the 8 ball, leaving the 8 and 9 for Tina. Tina won the first set with the score of 7 to6.
The second set started out with Tina winning the first two racks. Anna got on the board in rack 3 playing
beautifully, leaving herself perfect shape from the six out. In rack 4, Anna won once again and Tina had the
break in rack 5. Tina went on to win racks 5, 6 and 7. Anna played with such determination and won rack 8, but
Tina played perfectly in the last three racks to defeat Anna by a huge margin! Congratulations to Anna for a
great 2nd place finish in her first AWBT tournament!
Congratulations to Tina Pawloski for the 1st place finish, $300 in prize monies, and a paid spot into a 2006
WPBA Classic Event of her choice! Also congratulations to Tina for being the 2005 AWBT points champion!
This prestigious title earns her a guaranteed invitation to all WBPA Classic 2006 events. Great job Tina!
Rounding out the top 12 were: Tina Pawloski (1st place, $300), Anna Kostanian (2nd place, $200), Anne Gray
(3rd place, $150), Susan Williams (4th place, $106), Michelle Trevino and Susan Mello (5th place, $68), Julie
Nogiec, Melinda Huang (7th place, $42), Kristin Haney, Cathy Kelly, Liz Bernreuter and Jeri Engh (9th place,
$21).

Pearl Napa came in second place winning $30. Congrats to Jeri and Pearl!
We were also honored to have a Teague Custom Cue valued at $425 to raffle off! The winner was Bill Moore
from Phoenix! Congratulations Bill! We know you’ll have many years with this wonderful cue!
