On Saturday, January 27th, 2007, the Arizona pool
community lost yet another player. Brett Smith,
who always displayed endless energy and fearless
play, lost his battle with cancer. Brett was a super
nice, no nonsense gentleman who changed the
atmosphere, for the better, of every pool room he
walked in to. Brett is the brother of Scott Smith who
is a referee on the pro circuit and has been seen
refereeing many match's on TV.
In May of 1998, playing out of Main Street Billiards
Mesa, Brett teamed up with Olivia Jackson and won
the Open Scotch Doubles Championship at the 1998
BCA Nationals in Las Vegas.
The AzPoolScene extends our most sincere
sympathy's to the family and friends of Brett. Brett
will most definitely be missed by all.
