“Ajo” Charlie Cameron added the 2006 Arizona Seniors State Nine Ball Championships Crown to his
accomplished career last month, by soaring through the thirty-six player field undefeated. Tucson’s
Tom Neil, whose only two loses were to Mr. Cameron, went home with the very respected runner-up
finish. Rod “Babe” Thompson a former multiple state champion, captured third place honors. The
Babe also was the recipient of the $100.00 special bonus for “Most Senior Player in the Cash.”
Tucson’s Jay “Door Prize” Ninde rounded out the final four.
The fifth edition of this prestigious event, presented and hosted by Tucson’s Main Street Billiards,
featured five former State Champions, along with many Arizona pool legends.
Along with over a thousand senior dollars, Charlie received a beautiful gold cup, and a custom cue and
case compliments of World Champion Nick Varner
