Alexanders Sports Bar Pool and Golf Combo Tournament.
What's funnier than the Blue Collar Comedy Tour or say ...Steve
Martin in the movie, The Jerk? The answer? ... Watching 28 of
some of Arizona's finest pool players make their way to the golf
course at 7am on a Sunday morning. Now that's funny. I don't care
who you are!
Alexander's held their first pool & golf combo tournament on
Sunday June 25th, 2006. Points were awarded for where each of
the fourteen teams placed for the two events. The golf was team
scramble and the pool portion was team scotch doubles. The
overall champions were decided by which of the fourteen teams
accumulated the most points after both the golf and pool events
were concluded.
Dick (Doc) Rice and his partner, Aaron Manning won the overall
tournament by placing 1st in the golf and 2nd in the pool. Dick &
Aaron collected $900.00 for their win. Mike Pankoff and his
partner, Jack Scerca, finished second in the overall tournament by
accumulating enough points in both events to place second overall
even though they did not place in the top two in either event. Mike &
Jack collected $450.00 for their second place finish. Tommy
Dilorenzo and his partner, Chris Adams, finished 3rd in the overall
tournament, helped along by their 1st place finish in the pool portion
of the event. Tommy & Chris collected $250.00 for their third place
finish.
Alexander's wishes to thank all the participants and congratulate
Dick, Aaron, Mike, Jack, Tommy, and Chris for their 1st , 2nd, and
3rd place finishes. Alexander's is currently making plans for the
next Alexander's golf and pool outing tentatively scheduled for
October or November 2006.
Alexander's also would like to thank Ken Gouso (who won the Ping
golf bag for his closest to the pin shot on hole #16) and Todd
Leonard for all their help.
