Sweet Tooth Holds Women's Tournament

On July 19th, 2009, Sweet Tooth Billiards held a $200 Added Women's only 9-ball tournament on the barbox diamonds. This was an OPEN event where 8's and above paid $30 entry and 7's and below paid $20. The race was handicap - 2 and the tables were open with a $10 greens fee.
Sophia Morquecho outplayed Susan Williams and Jennifer Wayman after her opening round bye to hold the hot-seat. Sara Miller lost her opening round match to Susan by a score of 7 - 0, which might criple most players confidence, but not Sara. She used her huge heart for the game to refocus and march through the 1 lose side to face Sophia for the cash.
Sara continued her streak by taking the 1st set without letting Sophia out of her chair very often. In the 2nd set, the 2 traded back and forth until Sophia needed 2 and Sara needed 3. Sophia scratched on the break and Sara got out. She played a safety in the next game that allowed her to get to the hill first, then snapped the 9 for the win. Sara took home $480 by owning herself in the Calcutta and Sophia took home $105.    Video's from the Tournament
