Pettipiece and Gonzalez win events at Alexander's Sports Bar
Two different pool events ended on Sunday, July 8th, at Alexander's. The sixteen player One-Pocket
Marathon tournament, which started back on March 5th, ended with Bernie Pettipiece taking home
the first place money. The 9's only round robin also concluded with Jose Gonzalez taking top honors.
Pettipiece defeated Terry Osborne in the finals of the one-pocket tournament. Jimmy Mendoza took
third and Tres Kane settled for fourth. ... In the 9's only round robin, Gonzalez defeated Ray Robles in
the finals. Robles and Gonzalez made the finals by winning five out of seven round robin matches.
Three players had four match wins but all came up short as it took five match wins to advance to the
finals.
