| Alexander's 1st Big Gun Round Robin 9-Ball Invitational |
On Saturday June 9th, starting at 11am, Alexander's Sports Bar will hold their first ever Big Gun Round
Robin 9-Ball Invitational. The round robin will conclude on Sunday, June 10th. The final details of the
event are still being worked out, but we currently do have the basics set. Eight players, rated 10 or above,
will be invited to participate. Each of the eight players will play the other seven players in a round robin
format in 9-Ball, race to (13) games. As mentioned above, the details of how we will play the finals and how
and who qualifies for the finals are still under consideration. After we receive the feedback of the eight
players, we will decide and post the exact format of the round robin.
This tournament is designed as much for the spectators and sweaters in Arizona as for the players. Our
goal is to bring in eight of the top Arizona players to play the round robin while at the same time giving the
pool playing public, in Arizona, the opportunity to watch a minimum of FIFTY-SIX matches of nine ball
played by eight of Arizona's best players.
This invitational will be played on Alexander's seven recently added 7' Diamond pool tables.
This is another "Don't Miss It" pool event staged and promoted, once again, by Alexander's and their
co-promoter, Chuck Bobbitt from Visual Impressions.
We also are making plans to stage the same formated invitational event for eight (9) rated players as well
as another event for eight of Arizona's best (8) rated players. The date and times for the 9's and 8's round
robins will be posted as soon as we have them.
The dates and times and invited players are set for the "BIG GUNS" round robin. The invited players for
this round robin 9-Ball tournament are: Tres Kane, Terry Osborne, Jimmy Mendoza, Mitch Ellerman, Mike
Pankoff, Donnie Westbrooks, Dennis Orender, and Tony (the Tiger) Confalone.
Don Westbrooks had a prior committment for this date. Mike Williams will play as the eighth player.
