Alexander's Brings In The "DIAMONDS"
|
Alexander's Sports Bar, located at 3603 W. Dunlap in Phoenix, replaced their seven Valley Bar
Box pool tables with seven Diamond pool tables on March 27th, 2007.
Let's start from the beginning. Once the National BCA-Pool League started using the Diamond
tables at the BCA Nationals in Las Vegas, and everyone realized how different they played as
compared to the Valley Bar Boxes, I started making my plans to get those tables in Alexander's.
I then started my conversations with Diamond and told them someday, somehow, I wanted
those Diamond Bar Boxes in my bar. It is important to point out that I was quickly corrected in
my terminology. I was very directly told that Diamond does not manufacture Bar Boxes. I was
told that Diamond manufactures 7' pool tables but they do not manufacture 7' Bar Boxes. What I
came to understand is Diamond makes it extremely clear that their 7' tables are pool tables, not
Bar Boxes, and their 7' tables are made to play just like their 9' tables.

I can't argue with that. They are right. These tables are "pool tables" and they really do play
like 9' tables. And this difference is exactly what is separating Diamond from the rest of the
pack in regards to the 7' footers we play on at the AzBCA Parker tournament and the BCA-Pool
League Nationals in Las Vegas. Seven of the Diamonds that were used at the 2007 AzBCA in
Parker, Arizona are now sitting pretty in Alexander's. We are extremely proud to offer the
players in Arizona equipment that is second to none in the Phoenix area. We always felt and
worked hard to keep the equipment at Alexander's second to none and we feel we have always
done just that. However, installing those Diamonds has indeed created a "difference of night
and day" and we invite everyone that is going to Vegas in May to stop by Alexander's to play
and practice on the exact tables you will be playing on in Vegas.

the 2007 AzBCA tournament played in
Parker, Arizona.
Alexander's also brought back to
Alexander's the table that Michaele
Kedanis won the 2007 Womens
Masters on, as well as one of the tables
that the Alexander's Numero Uno team
won the 2007 AzBCA Mixed Team
Championship on.
