The 2nd leg of the 2007 Arizona All Around, title sponsored by Olhausen Billiards, was held at Alexander's Sports Bar on February 24th & 25th. The tournament drew (54) players. The format for the tournament was Bar-Box 10-Ball, race to (9) on the winners side and race to (8) on the one-loss side.
Mitch Ellerman won the tournament when he defeated Jimmy Mendoza in the finals by the score of 13-11. The finals race was a one race final extended to (13) games. Mitch took the hot seat with a win over Jeremy Nelson. Jimmy, who was sent to the one-loss side by Jeremy earlier in the tournament, defeated Jeremy in the finals of the one-loss side to advance to the finals. The finals match between Mitch and Jimmy was one of the most exciting finals in recent memory of the All-Around as the deciding match went back and forth all the way to the end. Mitch and Jimmy started the finals 3-3. Jimmy then won the next two games to go up 5-3. Mitch then won the next six games to take a commanding 9-5 lead. Jimmy bounced back with five games in a row to go ahead 10-9. Mitch then won the next two games to go up 11-10. Mitch comes up dry on the next break and Jimmy runs out to tie the finals match at 11-11. In the next game, Mitch kicks out of a safe and comes up safe on the kick. Jimmy fouls on his kick and Mitch runs out to get on the hill, then breaks and runs out to win the match and the tournament 13-11. Jeremy Nelson finished 3rd, Doug Hale 4th, and Mike Pankoff and Evans Bishop 5th/6th. The top sixteen, all in the cash, are noted at right.
